Oh whatta joy....

Well all in all... Emma is a perfect baby... all she does is sleep and eat, with the occasional poopy diapers of course. Cadence is adjusting extremely well except for the occassional jealous fits she has. They arent 'bad' and they dont last long, and I just actually laugh at it instead of stressing over it. It usually only happens if Cadence and I playing/sitting together and Emma starts to cry. I will ask "can I get Emma?" and Cadence will say "no" & pushes me to stay back... its cute... and if im holding Emma and Cadence wants me attention she puts to the bassinet and says "back mommy back" which is even cuter!! Cadence sometimes does try to 'help' but can be a little rough with her. I know Emma wont 'break' per say so its not too big a deal.

We took advantage of the nice weather we had today and went to the park. We had a very good time.

More to Emma

Her check up went well she gained 12oz. in a week. Her next appointment is in 2 months. She sleeps wonderfully at night, only waking up twice to eat... its funny to look at Emma b/c she looks so much like Cadence.

Update

Well Emma is almost 2 weeks old... and is doing very well... shes breast feeding like a champ... sleeps alot and is such a pleasant baby... We were so lucky with Cadence and how mild tempered she was and how easy she was as an infant that I really thought baby number 2 would be devlil baby... but... knock on wood... no signs of the devil yet... we are ReaLLY blessed!! Cadence loves Emma... she always wants to kiss her and if she makes a noise... she grabs my hand and says "Baby cry" and wants me to go get Emma... BUT of course she doesnt understand how to be gentle all the time... so we have to keep a watchful eye on her... Cadence found a oicture of herself when she was a new born and she thinks its Emma... its so cute!!
Emma has her second checkup tomorrow b/c last week when we took her she only gained back 2 ounces so they have to make sure she gained more weight... I hope she did because she does eat... I feel guilty that I havent been taking as many pictures as I did when Cadence was a new born... everything is so much more different the second time around...
Tomorrow is my birthday and it really doesnt even matter... once you hit a certain age.. theres no need to celebrate anymore... LOL... I'll be 25!!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD EMMA OLIVIA....

New Years day we went to Walmart to get some food to have for when I finally went into labor.... I really wasnt feeling all that great that day, having some pains but nothing to run to the hospital for... we bought a Mexican Enchilada oven meal for dinner to have that night and we played Wii. I tossed and turned all night and got outta bed around 5 to go potty. When got back in bed I couldnt fall asleep and was getting sharp pains down there... I started timing them because they felt quite consistent... the alarm went off at 620 for my dh to get up to go babysitting... so I told him what was going on and he suggested that I take a shower and go with him to babysit because if the contractions got stronger together he'd be stuck in traffic and wouldnt be home until 8 to come get me... so I showered and we went to babysit and then went to the hospital... I got to the hosp. at about 815 and was checked my the nurse and said I was still the same as i was last week.... (2cm & 60% effaced) the nurse says "i'll let your dr know and she may want you to go home and walk for an hour and come back..." i was like noooooo I dont wanna go home and come back that would stink.... so we sat there for a little bit and my dr finally came in about 8:45 checks me and says "your staying" the nurse looks at her like "what is she measuring?" the dr says "6cm!" we all looked at eachother like WoW!! that was quick... needless to say the contrax felt like they were getting stronger..... so I went into L&D room... the eip. guys came in to ask me questions and get me ready for the epidural and by the time they came back I really though I was having the baby before they would come back to give me the epi....well when the finally came back in to give it to me with the Dr. it took them a half hour to get the thing in my back....the guys was poking and prodding and hitting bone and was in too far and up too high...I started sweating and my legs fell asleep....I really almost told them to stop that didnt want it...but couldnt talk to tell them b/c i was holding my breath in pain...anyhow my legs were numbing but could still feel contrax...I had to lay on my side for awhile to fill the 'window'.......Dr came in measured me and broke my water at 11:30am....the next time the nurse measured me I was 9.5 cm she got the dr she came in said I was 10 and ready... she left and the nurse had me 'pre push' and in 2 pushes the head was already down there... Dr came back in I pushed 2 more times and out came Emma Olivia @ 1:35pm!! She came out looking like a chip munk she was swollen (that we could later tell the next day)... stayed in the hosptal until Friday but didnt get home until later afternoon b/c my dr was delivering babies and couldnt release me... so we have been home for 2 days now and its awesome... Cadence is doing really well being a big sister... our house is a mess b/c we cant keep up with picking up after all of Cadence's toys... but who cares... lol... everyone is healthy and happy and thats all that matters...

39 weeks

AAnd a happy holiday!! Well it wasn't really all that happy since Cadence wasn't feeling well... She has been sick since last Thursday, but on day 8 she is finally herself .... except for the coughing and runny nose... but I'll take that over her moping around all day! Needless to say she wasn't into opening gifts on Christmas morning... She made out very nicely, Santa brought her a play kitchen, and table and chairs. Mom-mom brought her a bike, she got clothes and a bilingual laptop from abuelo's. We had a very nice Christmas breakfast with my dad and his fiance my mom and younger sister, and my older sister, her son and bf...

I had my 39 week checkup yesterday and Im 2-3 cm dilated and 60% effaced!! Dr. said I could go any day so we shall see... hopefully its days not weeks!! I have been trying to organize Cadence's closet to make room for nb diapers and have been trying to get the toy room more organizes since that's where the new baby's clothes will be going... tough task considering she has SOOOO many toys in there now. We may really have to consider putting up sheet rock and insulate the basement to make that the playroom... since theres no chance of us being able to afford a new house at this time of our lives... Well hopefully the next post I make will be about how the baby is here and how he/she is healthy!!

38 weeks

Whaaaat?!?! 2 weeks left?!?! Are you kidding?!?! I had my check up yesterday and I'm measuring exactly 38 weeks, which is a relief considering I feel much huger than that... Baby's heartbeat is nice and strong and she gave me an exam AND............... I'm 1-2 cm dilated and about 50% effaced!! Hopefully it doesn't slow up down there though... Camilo seems to think that we're having this baby on Tuesday but its up to the little one so we shall see...
Cadence has been sick with a fever the past couple of days so we've all been just trying to relax with her and try to catch up on sleeping and being lazy. I'm nesting and cant sit still though and Camilo just doesn't understand that... he keeps telling me to relax and I keep telling him that if it doesn't get done then we wont be ready for this baby, I think he semi understands but he's a man so I'm sure he doesn't really get it... I've been doing laundry and trying to clean up Cadence's room but then I think 'what else can I do?' 'what else is there to do?' We still have to go get a car seat, figure out where the new baby's clothes will go, & I still have to pack my bag... an besides my bag packing the other 2 cost money which I dont feel like spending or going out to buy it with everyone doing last minute holiday shopping...

Catching up

WOW!! I havent posted in a few weeks so I have much to catch up on. We went to a holiday parade in my old town one weekend which was a lot of fun but of course pretty cold.As you can see Cadence was very bundled... but was funny because her and my nephew were like the scene from "Christmas Story" when the little boy is so bundled up that he falls down while walking to school and cant get up.... That was them... they were unbalanced and if they leaned one way or another, they'd tumble over... it was wuite funny. After the parade we actually had a birthday party to go to. It was at a party place where the girls that work there entertain the kids and you could sit back and relax (which of course I couldnt do because I wanted to see her having fun) Then we went back to my cousins house where they had pony rides. Cadence went on ok... but you could tell she was scared. Hmmmm what else... Oh we went to my sisters work to have breakfast with santa... and let me just say she was not feeling it. She'd much rather look at him from a far or at pictures. But my mom bought the kids bibs...

Now to catch up on this baby I have crawling around inside of me.... I will actually be 37 weeks tomorrow but at my last appointment I lost 2.5 lbs. and she said everything is looking great! I actually have an appointment today at 1230 in whic I thought it was yesterday and drove there and the nurse says "You're early" I say "I know Im a little early so finish eating your lunch I'll wait" she says "NO your really early your apt isnt until tomorrow!" We laughed I left and get a call from the Dr's office an hour later, reminding me of my apt that I have today!! Ha! Stupid pregnany brain!! 22 days to go... I can not believe it... and tonigt it my last night of class until September when I'll be student teaching... I cant believe how fast it hasall come.36 weeks36 weeks
